This has been a wild week. I've been dealing with conflict resolution at one of the churches in my district (where I am the assistant superintendent). I've planned & held a meeting with pastors. I've graded mid-term exams, and am now turning the corner to teaching the final week and a half of class. And today... I was running two Alpha classes for college students.
As I sat this morning with my cup of coffee, looking out the window, I knew that I was tired... and that frustrated me. I wanted the energy to really pray for the group that was coming today to Alpha. I wanted to pray for people to come & I wanted to pray for God to really be at work. I also wanted the energy to interact with these students, talking about life, answering questions, praying for them. But there I sat, exhausted.
But then a little thought occurred to me. I did not have the energy to fervently pray... but I knew that my prayer team was praying. Suddenly, I felt lifted up by others' prayers. I was not doing this on my own. I am part of a team.
Thank you, team members. Your prayers were answered today. God came. People came. They asked questions. They got excited about the things of God. And they said they want to keep coming.
I am so thankful for my team! Today, I rode on your prayers, and they carried me.
