What do you do when you meet people who don't really understand your current journey with God?
I seem to have had plenty of that lately. People who don't understand the journey God has me on with starting The Loop. For one thing, it's a slow journey. I know that. And although I'd like instant results (wouldn't we all?) I know that this different type of church is going to take time. Time to build a core group. Time for us to begin to understand how this church will be different. Time to listen, rather than run ahead, of God.
Many people look at me like I'm crazy when I tell them how small our group is right now. And they really think I'm crazy when I explain that I've resisted launching this church like many others are launched (you send out thousands of invitations, prepare for the big service, and pray that many people come in... it's not that this is a bad way to do it! It's just that God is asking me to do something different).
God IS asking me to do something different. And I'm supposed to measure "success" in terms of God, not other people. Still... it's nice when, once in awhile, you meet someone who listens to your story and says "yes! you're on the right track!" That happened yesterday. I met for coffee with someone who helps people like me for a living. And although I know that I'm to measure success through God's grid, not other people's grid, it sure helps to have someone else tell you that you're not crazy!

Don't ever stop following God's leading. God will bless you in what you do if you are doing it his way. I'm in the middle of my own crazy journey so I totally get what you are saying!
