I taught my first Humanities class this morning. It's an 8 am class! As I asked the students about one thing they'd like to do in their lives, one honest student said: "I want to survive an 8 am class!"
About half a dozen students are very engaged. All the rest need coffee. Lots of it. And maybe something with a high sugar content as well. Come to think of it, I need coffee (and lots of it) teaching at that time!
