A friend from college died this morning of a brain tumor. I've followed her difficult journey through her husband's blog (http://updateonsuzy.blogspot.com).
She and her husband are followers of Jesus, pastors in England, wonderful God-filled people.
In following their terrible/beautiful journey, one thing sticks with me. It was the two words that Suzy continued to mumble, even as the disease ravaged her body: "thank" and "love."
Christians are supposed to be transformed people... As a pastor, transformation (through the power of God) is the business I'm in. But watching Suzy's journey has made me ask: am I so transformed that the two words on my lips that define me are "thanks" and "love"? Not yet... But Suzy inspires me to weave those words more tightly into my being.
Today Suzy gets to dance with Jesus. Today, her thanks finds full voice as she fully experiences His Love.
Thanks, Suzy, for those two words. Even in death, you challenge and inspire.
