Shimmering Verses

Each year I pick a "Bible verse of the year."  The verse represents some hope or challenge or prayer that I want to carry with me throughout the year.  I like to have that verse in mind by January 1.  It makes sense, right?  Get off to the right start for the new year.  Get focused on what is to come.

But this year?  I was having a hard time figuring out what verse to choose.  Nothing seemed to... 'fit'... until this morning.  This morning I found a verse that... how do I describe it?
Believers in the evangelical tradition would say that "God's Word spoke."
Those in the charismatic tradition may say that "the Spirit moved."
Christians in the contemplative tradition describe verses that "shimmer."
Whichever tradition... I read this verse this morning, and little bells went off in my head.  "YES!  This is it!"  Here it is:

"This is what the Lord says:  stand at the crossroads and look;
ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it,
and you fill find rest for your souls." - Jeremiah 6:16

For you... what verse shimmers, speaks, or moves?  Listen... God speaks.
