50,000 words...

I'm one week down on this novel writing journey, but not yet 1/4 of the way there (yes, that means I'm behind on word count).  Part of the reason I'm behind is that I had to stop and spend quite a bit of time figuring out what I'm writing about (this is something that many who are doing the novel-in-a-month thing had complete before November, but I came late to the game).  Part of the reason I'm behind is that there were some unexpected interruptions.  And part of the reason I'm behind is that I had underestimated how many 50,000 really is.

I've never been good at estimating anything having to do with numbers.  Time?  I usually think it will take less time than it does.  Measuring food for portion size?  Sometimes over, sometimes under, rarely right.  Writing a book?   I'm just beginning to pour the words into that 50,000 level cup, wondering if I'll have enough to fill it.  But I continue to pour, and since it seems that Jesus invited me into this journey, I'm asking Him to multiply the words like He did with the loaves and fishes...

Me too! Glad to know someone else working on this project. You can do this, Pam!
