We've just gotten back from a week in South Dakota... both vacation time, and ministry time (I spoke at 2 churches in our district). While we were in the beautiful black hills, our GPS kept getting confused as it would lose a signal in the hills. At one point, it kept saying (over and over again): "Do a u-turn... then... do a u-turn." Marsh and I had a good chuckle about that one!
But our GPS reminds me too much of our culture these days. We seem to be going in circles, with no one pointing a clear way ahead. When I get anxious because of the circles I see or feel around me, I remember the words of Jesus:
"I am the way..."
Phew. Clear directions. No circles. No u-turns... unless it's that u-turn to get on His road.
