I was reminded of the wonder and the fragility of life over and over again this past week. Scenes and stories from Haiti continue to remind us all. In addition, while we were visiting with family in Florida, 4 of us were in a car accident (we're all fine... but it could have been much worse)... and then a couple of days later, my brother and sister-in-laws car window was smashed as we were in a movie matinee (all to steal a GPS! I'm thankful we were safe in the movie theater while the thieves were busy). While we were in Florida, we got a couple of phone calls... one from my uncle to tell us that my aunt was in the hospital. Another from my brother-in-law to tell us that his brother-in-law had passed away (much too young!) from cancer.
Life IS precious. And we really have no idea what the next few minutes, days, weeks, or years hold.
Thankfully, there is a God who not only knows what the future holds for each of us, but who cares deeply what happens to each one of us. Today, thank Him for this precious gift of life. And choose to make each moment count for eternity.
