You may know that I teach a Humanities course at a local college. I love interacting with the students, and teaching on lots of topics that I enjoy (music, art, theater... and religion!). This fall semester, there was a scheduling mix-up, and they didn't schedule me to teach a class. I was disappointed. One of the reasons I was disappointed was I kind of had it in my head that I'd get to teach every day student at this school (Humanities is a required General Education requirement)... and in teaching them all, I'd get to explain Christianity to them, in an intelligent, clear, understandable way. But because of the scheduling mix-up, I'd miss this class.
Last week, I got an email from the guy who is teaching the class this semester. He needs a substitute for one day (tomorrow). I figured that I'd be filling in on art or literature. But you know what? They're in the midst of discussing religion and morality. I'm going to come into the class to lead a discussion on belief systems, starting with a review of major religions.
Yup. I'd say that God is in the details. Pray for me as I teach, would you?
