This morning I sat with my coffee mug, looking out the window onto a beautiful scene. Clean white snow. Brilliant sunshine, throwing crisp shadows. A gorgeous day!
Then I looked at the thermometer. 20 below on our deck, in the sunshine.
Reality check. It might be beautiful outside, but running out there without lots of warm coverings would not be a wise thing. In fact, it could be deadly.
Reminds me of the spiritual realities of church planting. It's a beautiful, exciting thing to be in the field of a "new work." But without the covering of prayer (both my prayers and yours), it's a dangerous thing.
Today I'm thankful for a warm house, warm clothes and coats, and for the covering prayers of the many people who pray for me. THANKS!
