On Thursday I found out that due to Veteran's Day, the college Humanities class I teach will be canceled on Tuesday. At first, I was a bit annoyed (I would have liked to have known sooner!). When I realized I'd turned down the opportunity to go on a Pastor's Retreat because of the class (that wasn't happening), I was REALLY annoyed. Then my sensible husband said: "Why don't you ask if you can still go on the retreat???" Well, duh.
You guessed it... there's still space for me to go. So now I'm absolutely delighted that I have Tuesday off from teaching. Amazing how God graciously surprises us in the details of life, even when we are annoyed!
