Our first Loop Celebration was last Sunday. (In a traditional church, this may be called a "sacrament"). We dedicated one baby girl and baptized another baby girl (two different families... the denomination I'm with is one of the few that will do either!). We had 29 people on a windy hilltop in a park. It was a bit chaotic... wind blowing, kids running... but great!
And it seems appropriate that our first "public" celebration involved babies... after all, we're a church that is celebrating "new life"... new life as a church (I like to think of us as still in the womb, yet to be born), as well as a church on a mission to bring new spiritual life to people who at this point don't know the TRUE life Jesus offers us.
A good first celebration!
