This has been a long... long... long... winter.
Everyone I talk to (in this part of the world) seems to be longing for spring. And everyone seems to be working out their 'cabin fever' in different ways. Half my class at the local college didn't show up this week (and I was told that just about every class experienced the same thing!). One friend is working out every day at the gym (that would not be me!). Another friend is sitting below one of those 'natural daylight' lamps. Another has decided that 'tanning' helps. Or vitamin D.
When the weather gets like this, I cope in a variety of ways. Eat favorite food. Sleep. Dream of being on a cruise, somewhere warm. Plan the garden for when (if?) the snow melts.
What happens when I spiritually have 'cabin fever'? When I'm in the midst of a time when there seems to be little spiritual growth? Eat (take in favorite passages in the Bible). Sleep (rest). Dream of what might be. Plan next steps.
This Sunday, we have one of those 'next steps.' Another "Taste of Alpha" with the hopes of starting another Alpha course. Do you have cabin fever? Come on out on Sunday night. The food will be good. The conversation better.
