I did something this past weekend that's a first for me... I spoke in two countries at once.
How? I was the officiating minister at a beautiful wedding. The bride is from Rumania... and all of her family is still in Rumania. The groom's family hosted the wedding... and a friend of the bride did a skype video stream of the whole wedding and reception. The bride's family hosted a party in their home... and participated via the technological connection. Before the ceremony, after the ceremony, and frequently during the reception, the bride and members of the wedding party would stop by the computer to "say hello" to the group in Rumania (who must have been very sleepy... our "afternoon wedding" was late at night, and the reception would have been early in the morning!). What an amazing thing...
Which makes me wonder... how soon might it be that we have a virtual connection to a new group for The Loop that's outside our area? Yes, it's possible...
