Sabbath Rest
This weekend I spoke at the Free Methodist Church in Fillmore MN (this is a great church. In a rural town of 80 people, the church averages over 140 people, just built a new sanctuary, and is growing!). I spoke on "Sabbath Rest"... the gift God invites us to open, taking a break one day in seven. In addition to being a good topic to speak on, it was a good topic to practice, as well! Marshal and I spent most of the weekend enjoying ourselves as we drove through the country, visited garden shops, and (on Saturday) slept late. It was a beautiful weekend... sunny and cold (as we drove to Fillmore we saw lots of frost!). I am SO glad that I serve a God who, rather than demanding 7 days of work, tells me that I need to take a break one day in seven! (If you've been working hard for 7 or more days? God says: Take a break!)
