I recently sent out my monthly prayer letter, and in it I told the story of meeting with the pastor who had taken 8 years to get a church off the ground (told in my blog, March 16). What's been interesting is the response I've gotten - literally from all over the world (received an email from Ghana this morning!). People seem hungry for this kind of real story. While the stories we often hear are the instant-success variety, most of us are more likely to experience the "keep persevering" kind.
That pastor in IL had joked with me that no one was knocking on his door for him to write a book. But I wonder... would his book actually resonate with more of us in deep places in our lives?
