My brother, sister-in-law, and their three kids are visiting us for Christmas. They got here yesterday from Florida. The kids had never seen snow. So what did they do when they got here in the 3 degrees-in-the-afternoon cold? They put on the winter coats I'd gotten them, and went out to play in the snow! I had to go out there and tell them all (adults included) that it was time to come in. I didn't want anyone getting frostbite!
For someone who might be a bit too used to snow, it was good to see it through my Floridian family's eyes (especially the kids). It makes me appreciate the white stuff again.
For the same reason, I love being around people who are new to the faith. They are experiencing the joy and the fun of life with Christ for the first time. And it makes me appreciate what I have in Jesus all the more.
If your faith is feeling "ho-hum"? I'd suggest finding a kid (or a "kid" in the faith) and asking them about Jesus. It will give you a new appreciation for Him!
