Sunday morning as I sat in church (where Marsh & I are attending while we get The Loop going) I had a sense that God was "whispering" to me. The text was Hebrews 11 - the great chapter on "faith."
I felt God whispered two things... first, that I'm doing what I need to be doing for church planting. I am stepping out in faith in the places where I need to be. Second, that like Abraham (the first person of faith mentioned in that chapter), I'd be waiting longer to see God's promise fulfilled. SO... I was not too surprised when none of the new people we'd invited (even some who said they would come) showed up.
God has often used Abraham & Sarah and their story to speak to me. I have to confess... I wish He'd use the story of someone who saw the fulfillment of God's promises at a bit younger age! Having said that, God did real miracles in the lives of Abraham and Sarah. And their stories changed the world. And so... I continue on the journey, trusting in God's promises, and hoping that I see their fulfillment before I'm 100!
