Over the past two days I've spent lots of hours at the Apple Store getting my computer updated. What have I noticed?
*The place is packed and has energy and creativity
*Both the employees and the customers are excited to be there
*While it definitely has a young "feel" (probably 2/3 of the people there are under 30), everyone is welcome. I spotted two people with walkers! (Although I have to admit, one of them didn't seem to be too pleased to be in the environment).
*People were there to learn and to do. Hands-on learning was taking place all around me.
*The people who really know what they're doing (called "geniuses") enjoy sharing their knowledge and helping those of us with far less knowledge.
Apple has something called "one to one." For $99 a year you can come in up to once a week for personal training. And many, many, many people do (the whole time I was there 4 or more "trainers" were at work with people). I have a dream... that some day people will be lining up, more hungry for spiritual training than they are for Apple Training. Wouldn't THAT be great?
